Rodgers constructed programs that led to substantial increases in both the number of graduate students in the program, and the number and abilities of the Ph. D. students that graduated from it. These exceptional individuals are now making their presence known the world over.
Later administrations, both Democratic and Republican, have chosen saving money over academic excellence. If Ohio’s citizens want their universities to work for them — something essential for a prosperous future — they need to find more governors like Dick Celeste.
