A long line of trucks stalled at the Zaragoza International Bridge, one of two ports of entry in Ciudad Juarez going into the U.S.on April 12, 2022. The truckers blocked both north and south bound commercial lanes in protest after prolonged processing times implemented by Gov. Abbott which they say increased from 2-3 hours up to 14 hours.

,” : So, I don’t get it. Did the governor really not understand that slowing down trucks crossing into Texas under the pretense of controlling illegal migrant entries only interrupts international trade, exacerbates inflation and further hamstrings our already-impacted supply chain? None of these things are desirable outcomes for the citizens of the United States. Hello? Mister governor? As much as you may hate it, Texas is still one of those states.

Then, according to the governor, all it took for him to pull the plug on the entire operation was our neighboring Mexican state governors to simply offer to try a little harder to curb illegal entries from their side of the border. Honestly, I think our governor actually just realized he was “busted” and came up with that justification to end the whole thing.
