Opinion | Religious freedom is under attack from the left

Those who agree with same-sex marriage are free to engage opponents “in an open and searching debate,” but the Constitution “does not permit the State to bar same-sex couples from marriage.” This week the Archdiocese of Denver came under fire for guidance sent to local Catholic schools regarding church teachings on sexuality and marriage. The “Guidance for Issues Concerning the Human Person and Sexual Identity” states that schools cannot treat same-sex marriage or cohabitation as equal to marriage as defined by church teachings.
