Stargazers could see the 2023 Orionid meteor shower by naked eye when Storm Babet eases.
The phenomenon is a mainstay for stargazers every October, but the peak of the 2023 appearance may be spoiled by Storm Babet. However, Scots will still get the chance to see the show at either side of the peak date.
The reprieve will be short-lived, he added: "However, on Monday, more heavy rain and showers look like spreading in from the west and southwest, and that sets the scene for the coming week, with all areas seeing further spells of rain at times, albeit with brief drier interludes."
