All Quiet on the Western Front, Top Gun: Maverick, The FabelmansThe cast and crew of Everything Everywhere All at Once accept the award for best picture.It’s been an all-out favourite to win best picture since the beginning, after going in to these awards with a huge 11 nominations, but things never really felt quite certain as it’s historically not the type of film the Oscars are known to reward .
“The world is changing rapidly and movies move at the rate of years and the internet moves at the rate of milliseconds,” he said. “I have to dedicate this to my mum, all the mums in the world because they are really the superheroes and without them none of us would be here tonight,” she says. “This is history in the making.”
But hey, we’re splitting hairs here. Whether it’s entirely historic or just largely so, Yeoh’s win is certainly deserved and welcome.Brendan Fraser has beaten some tough competition – particularly from Austin Butler – to win best actor.
