Megan Thee Stallion made a surprise appearance for Hollywood’s biggest night.
She hit the red carpet wearing a shimmery slate-blue strapless gown by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta. It was embellished sequins and a featured a side cutout at the torso and slit nearly hip high, which could be considered conservative for the self-appointed “Hot Girl.”
She wasn’t the only Houston style setter at the awards. Beyoncé opened the show with a live video wearing a chartreuse look complete with long gloves, singing “Be Alive” from the movie “King Richard,” about Venus and Serena Williams’ father. Beyoncé performed on the tennis courts where the Williams sisters played in Compton, Calif., and was backed by a team of singers, also in the yellow-green hue.
Ariana DeBose, who won the Oscar for her supporting role as Anita in “West Side Story,” wore a Valentino red pant and bustier with a wrap. Kirsten Dunst, who starred in “Power of the Dog,” wore a ruffled red Christian Lacroix strapless gown. Tracee Ellis Ross wore a red strapless, tea-length Carolina Herrera. Also in the bold color were Molly Sims and Rosie Perez.
