Erik Karlsson on trade rumors: “I’m here right now, I’m happy and whatever happens, is going to happen. I try and stay in the moment.”
Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson was back inside the Canadian Tire Centre just outside of Ottawa on Saturday, and the Senators team that he starred with for nearly a decade is reportedly interested in a reunion.
Karlsson has a no-movement clause in his eight-year, $92 million contract that he signed with the Sharks in June 2019, giving him full veto power over any potential trade. “Who knows what’s gonna happen? You never know. Could be another COVID situation for all we know, and so you can’t really walk around thinking like that. It’s going to ruin you.”
