What Sir Keir Starmer wrote in a floral tribute as he visited the scene of yesterday's knife attack in Southport
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer wrote that 'our hearts are broken' as he laid flowers at the scene of yesterday's knife attack in Southport . Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were all fatally stabbed in the incident in Southport on Monday. Eight other children suffered stab wounds and five are in critical condition, alongside two adults who were also critically injured, police said.
'I can’t imagine, as a dad myself; to get a briefing from the chief constable and the emergency services about the ongoing investigation but, also, importantly, to have the opportunity to say to those that were responding yesterday from emergency services, say a personal thank you to them and to shake their hand, and to say that as Prime Minister on behalf of the country, we are grateful for what they did.
