The memorial service in Brisbane for Constable Rachel McCrow and Constable Matthew Arnold has been attended by thousands of people with the convention centre reaching its 8000 capacity limit.
She read a letter written by Arnold in Year 12 which said: "I may be gone some day, soon perhaps, but just know that I will never leave you. I will cherish every moment we've had together in my heart forever". "I'm so proud of you for the courage you displayed in your final moments, and for being the fighter that you are. ""That is something that will forever haunt me," she said.Police chaplain Jeffrey Baills directed a message to Arnold and McCrow's families that they should be "so proud" of the pair for their service during their final moments."This barbaric act has shocked our community and it's irreparably damaged your .
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said in a world filled with anger, division and ugliness, McCrow and Arnold were a force for good."There are no words that can heal this awful grief and crushing loss.
