Clive appeared on ITV's Lorraine today host Christine Lampard about his split from his wife
Our Yorkshire Farm's Clive and his estranged wife Amanda called time on their marriage last year as their show Our Yorkshire Farm was cancelled. And while Clive has remained quiet on the subject, he is now speaking out on the cause of the breakdown of their marriage.
It comes after it was recently being reported that Amanda has now moved on with businessman beau. Clive appeared on ITV's Lorraine today, where he spoke to stand-in host Christine Lampard about his split from his wife, entirely blaming himself for what happened. Clive admitting to "ranting and raving and drinking". Speaking on the ITV show today, the Mirror reports he said: "It's a tough time for Amanda now and I think it's only right because I don't do social media to speak out. We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and it was an opportunity to make something as a family. That was what drove her. It was amazing and very successful but I handled it very badly.
He added: "It seemed to eat away at me and I handled it badly and I behaved badly towards her. I should have been supportive ... It's been really upsetting, Amanda's having a tough time at the moment. I just feel I can't sit back. I have to say something in her defence, she's a remarkable woman. We just got to the point where we couldn't be together anymore.
Following confirmation of their split last year, Amanda said: "Clive and I are sad to confirm that we have made the difficult decision to separate. This hasn't been easy, but we both believe it's the right choice for the future of our family. Although we are no longer a couple, we continue to work on the farm and co-parent together, with our number one priority being the happiness and well-being of our children," they said.
