Richard Gregg had been a partner since 2013 and was named by PwC’s management as one of eight partners who had left or would be departing in July after the tax leaks scandal.

Mr Gregg argued the reasons given for management’s recommendation for him to retire did not meet the requirements of the partnership agreement.

Mr Gregg received written notice on July 3 that the board had received such a recommendation for him. In its letter, the board claimed Mr Gregg had failed to adequately discharge his leadership role relating to work in 2016 and 2017.
