Italy's cultural minister claims a tourist has been filmed allegedly carving his girlfriend's name into a wall at Rome's two-thousand-year-old Colosseum, slamming the actions as a 'sign of great incivility'.
The ancient structure dates back almost 2,000 years, with construction believed to have started between 70 and 72 AD under the reign of Roman emperor Vespasian.
