A Waterloo Airbnb listing which offered guests a small makeshift space with a mattress in a living room — in the middle of a unit being shared with five other people — has gone viral for all of the wrong reasons. 7NEWS
One person who spotted the listing online reposted its photo of the ‘bedroom’ interior, which featured a single mattress on the floor.The ‘room’ is partitioned from the rest of the living room.The unit has three other bedrooms and is shared by five people.
“Your privacy is just like in a normal room, except the partition wall does not reach the ceiling,” the hostess wrote. The listing is no longer available on the Australian website, but was being advertised for £35 night on theIt’s understood that Airbnb is liaising with the owner on the advertisement, clarifying whether it was incorrectly posted as “private”.
According to Airbnb’s policy, a room is only considered “private” if it’s a private bedroom with a door that is intended to be used exclusively by the guest.Airbnb“Jesus, how little shame must you have to think something like this is even remotely appropriate,” one user said.Another shared their shock, saying, “Wow, that’s ... no words.”
