Change has come much more slowly to the top ranks of the ASX than Wall Street - but tech companies are starting to gather steam here.
is a reminder of two big things about our capital markets.
The second is that the top ranks of the ASX have changed so little in the past 21 years, and so slowly. Compared with the top ranks of Wall Street, which are dominated today by companies formed in the last 20-40 years, the top 10 ASX companies by market value today don’t look much different to how they looked 21 years ago, and are long in the tooth in comparison.
