A Butler County woman is behind bars after police said she shot her boyfriend multiple times.
, Mascellino said Hughes advised the officer there with her that she was the one who shot her boyfriend.
Police found 30-year-old Anthony Smith, of Cranberry, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital, where he died at 1:49 a.m. According to the complaint, Hughes said Smith punched her in the face and head causing her to fall. Then she grabbed the gun from her purse and shot him several times. Police said Hughes had a small cut and swelling on her cheek. Her hand was also bruised,Hughes was charged Sunday with one count of criminal homicide and is currently being held at the Butler County Prison.
