As the cruise industry rebounded post-pandemic, Pacific island nations are gearing up to capitalize on the increasing number of cruise ship visitors.
The secluded waters of Divers Bay are off the beaten path for cruise ships sailing the Pacific. But there are too few visits like this for the village, on the island of Ureparapara. While only one cruise ship stopped at the island last year, Chief Silas would like to see four to five visits a year.It's a situation on the minds of tourism authorities throughout the Pacific as the cruise industry resurges.
