Lewis Flores, 40, was killed in the dog attack in Rockport, Texas.
from the Aransas County Sheriff’s Office says the dogs were still attacking Lewis Flores, who had been knocked to the ground, when deputies arrived at about 5 a.m. Tuesday. Flores reportedly had been walking down a street when he was mauled.
The gunshot caused the dogs to run from the area, allowing emergency workers to try to help Flores. Flores was taken by ambulance to Bay Area Hospital in Corpus Christi but could he not be saved.two people, Guadalupe Carreon, 33, and Mario Alberto Mendoza Pena, 33, have been arrested in connection with the attack. Both have been charged with attack by dog resulting in death. If found guilty, they would face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
“Being a big kid himself, Lewis loved everything about being the fun uncle and most importantly, he loved his family deeply,” the post says.
