Padres make moves, more likely to come
Three of the Padres’ new players were activated before Wednesday’s series finale against the Rockies.Left-hander Rich Hill is tentatively slotted to start Monday against the Dodgers, one of his 12 former teams, in place of Joe Musgrove.and pushed back to at least Tuesday against the Mariners in Seattle.
Reliever Scott Barlow, first baseman/designated hitter Ji Man Choi and infielder Garrett Cooper were available to play Wednesday. Wednesday, the Padres made room for the additions on the active roster by placing reliever Tim Hill on the injured list with a sprained left ring finger, optioning catcher Brett Sullivan to Triple-A and designating reliever Brent Honeywell for assignment.
