Padres shortstop Xander Bogaerts tracing most recent flare up to Spencer Strider hitting him in the wrist with a pitch in mid-April
was out of the lineup again Monday with his balky left wrist. He’s hopeful to return to the lineup Tuesday for the series opener against the Seattle Mariners, but that depends on how he responds to an alternate round of treatment.
Asked if surgery had ever been presented as a long-term fix for the recurring injury, Bogaerts said: “None of that, none of that. I’ve had it multiple times and a lot of Silver Sluggers that I’ve had I’ve had them in those same years. It’s not like anything that I have to worry about. It’s just this time is a little complicated because I had already.”
