A young girl was one of two confirmed cases of the potentially fatal stings flown from the island to Hervey Bay Hospital yesterday.
Two people were airlifted from K’gari to Hervey Bay Hospital on Saturday evening after being stung by potentially fatal irukandji jellyfish.
Her parents administered first aid using vinegar before the rescue helicopter arrived about 6.30pm, the RACQ said. That patient was also in a stable condition in the hospital, which would not provide further details on that case because of privacy issues.“It is just these two that are confirmed irukandji stings. The other ones are non-toxic marine stingers,” she said.
