Marc Green, 28, was drunk and caught on CCTV chasing the man, who he had never met before, on a sunny day in the town centre. The victim was with his terrified wife and nine-year-old daughter at the time.

"Around 1.15pm, the accused and a friend were walking onto Bridge Street having spent the early afternoon consuming alcohol.
"Police officers attended and traced the accused. He was placed in a marked police cell van and taken to Greenock police station.
