Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk speaks about her own miscarriage after an internal review was ordered into the emergency department care a woman received after losing her child.
"I had it in my house, I went to work, I was completely in shock.
"Then, I thought I'd better call my specialist and I went into my specialist and he said: 'I don't think you should be at work, you should be at home'. "This was many, many years ago, of course, before I was a politician, but I know the trauma that goes through with women."It stays with you for the rest of your life."Health Minister Shannon Fentiman yesterday ordered an urgent internal review of a woman's treatment at the Ipswich Hospital emergency department after she had a miscarriage.
"Women right across Queensland deserve to be treated with compassion and in a trauma-informed way when they present to our hospitals."
