Palpatine's Force Lightning may be powerful, but Star Wars Rebels proved he has much more dangerous abilities - and yet doesn't use them much.

As powerful as Emperor Palpatine's Force Lightning may be, Star Wars Rebels proved his greatest power has been overlooked. According to the Emperor, the dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some would consider unnatural. He certainly proved that in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, with the Sith Lord even finding a way to return from the dead.Palpatine's go-to Force power was, of course, Force Lightning.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Palpatine's Greatest Force Feat Was So Subtle Everybody Missed It The Star Wars Rebels finale sees a hologram of Palpatine attempt to recruit Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger to the dark side. This hologram was likely cast from Coruscant, the capital of the Empire, and it was received by an Imperial Star Destroyer orbiting Ezra's homeworld of Lothal on the Outer Rim.

If Palpatine can uncuff Ezra Bridger from such a distance, then how powerful is his telekinesis? Darth Vader has choked people from different ships in the same star system, but Palpatine could do the same at a far greater distance. This truly is Palpatine's greatest feat in Star Wars canon.Palpatine's Telekinesis Would Have Been More Dangerous Than Force Lightning As much as he may have loved the power, Force Lightning was the key to Palpatine's defeat.

What is remarkable, though, is that Palpatine only seems to use telekinesis as a last resort. He used this Force power on Yoda in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, tossing senate pods at him, but the duel had progressed for some time before he did so. Star Wars Rebels shows the Emperor's choice of Force powers was most unwise.
