For spring/summer 2025, the sustainability-focused event continued to go from strength to strength, with innovative designers, inclusive casting and imaginative collections

Pamela Anderson, bubble skirts and folk songs: the key collections from Copenhagen fashion week – in picturesThis five-year-old Danish brand kicked off Copenhagen fashion week with a buzzy show held on the waterside, in front of the Henning Larsen-designed national opera house on Holmen island. Models wove their way through its natural pollinator pathways as guests sat on mirrored stools.

Part of Copenhagen fashion week’s NewTalent programme, Ekroth’s show was titled Lavatanssit, which refers to Finnish barn dancing that takes place in the summer, and the soundtrack comprised Finnish folk songs. Blown-up prints of wildflowers found in the Finnish countryside featured on sleeveless dresses and oversized jackets. Skirts styled over dresses, T-shirts with nipple piercings and hoodies fused with crochet collars added a young grunge feel.

After scooping the Zalando Visionary award in May the Irish-born, London-based designer Sinéad O’Dwyer put on a standout show that people were still talking about days later. Committed to ‘changing the fashion system’, O’Dwyer continued her inclusive casting. This time, in addition to size and age diversity, the blind influencer and author Lucy Edwards walked the catwalk with her guide dog, Miss Molly.
