Chinese Premier Li Qiang will visit Adelaide Zoo on Sunday in a promising sign for the continued presence of giant pandas in Australia.
Chinese pandas are set to remain in Australia as a powerful symbol of improved relations between the two nations as Chinese Premier Li Qiang prepares to arrive in Australia this weekend for the first such visit in seven years.
Such a deal would be a coup for Australia given the only remaining giant pandas left the United Kingdom last year andas relations between the superpowers soured. “Formal discussions will soon commence with China Wildlife Conservation Association about our Giant Pandas and exploring whether a further loan extension is possible.”
