The Penrith Panthers confirmed this evening May has been charged by Queensland Police with assault occasioning bodily harm.READ MORE:The club said the incident occurred in November last year, while May was on leave following his team's grand final win.
"The club was made aware of the incident at the time, informed the NRL Integrity Unit and undertook an investigation into the matter," the club statement read. "The club subsequently implemented disciplinary measures against May, while giving fair consideration to the circumstances of the incident, and deemed the matter finalised.
"The NRL has not imposed any disciplinary measures against May, therefore he is eligible for NRL selection."A young winger and centre, May made his Panthers debut last season and scored a hat-trick against the Knights in round three.
