Australia 's Jaryd Clifford is disqualified after crossing the finish line third in the men's 5,000m T13 final at the Paris Paralympics.
The Aussie's went down 58-55 to reigning gold medallists Great Britain in their first match, before putting together an almost flawless performance in yesterday's 55-53 defeat of France. The rules state an athlete running with a guide must hold onto the tether until they cross the finish line, something Clifford didn't do."I went to see mum and dad, and my girlfriend, and broke down and cried on the side of the track," he said.Rhiannon Clarke
"It was so elusive. I was fourth when I first raced it, down to fifth in Tokyo and it was one of the worst races of my career," she said.
