Parents have been left bereft by the closure
Parents in Adlington have shared their worries after a local community nursery was left with no choice but to close for good.
The letter, shown to LancsLive, states that after the resignation of the nursery manager, two more members of staff followed suit, leaving the ratio of staff to children too low to operate. The nursery announced its full closure will commence from March 31, 2023. "As a parent, when you're looking for a nursery, it's not a decision that you make quickly, you look at what options are out there and talk to various nurseries," Simon said. "But if you're forced to make a decision around doing something quick because your nursery is shutting in a week it's a lot more difficult.
"This doesn't feel great, my daughter is already upset by the fact that the nursery is closing. With younger children, you try to keep them in routine, they get to know the nursery, the people and make friends," the 43-year-old added. "When we got the letter, my wife was absolutely devastated, she was in tears for most of yesterday, because it's been in the community for so long.
