UPDATE: Parking garage collapses in NYC, officials warn injuries, death totals may ‘change rapidly’
Multiple people were trapped Tuesday after a parking garage collapsed in Lower Manhattan, officials said.
A total of three people were hurt, two minor and one more serious but not critical, according to fire officials, but that number was expected to increase.Multiple people were trapped in the collapse.Mayor Eric Adams was en route to the scene as of 4:40, according to a City Hall spokesman.
