The Regional Transportation District’s R-Line resumed partial service Wednesday afterfor repairs of signal problems at traffic crossings near the Anschutz Campus in Aurora.
RTD suspended the light rail line starting Friday between the 13th Avenue and Peoria stations. It replaced the train with bus shuttle service to four stations while crews worked to restore normal operation for malfunctioning crossing arms and traffic signals at a handful of crossings, including on East 17th Place near several hospitals.
General manager and CEO Debra Johnson said in a memo to the agency’s board last week that the problem was rooted in a network failure in the computerized control system RTD uses to manage its rail lines.
