Grandmother, Sandra Duff, was taking her grandson to Thornwood Park in Partick when she noticed the gate had been chained closed.
The concerned resident said that she never noticed any warning and that people were unsure when the play area would be reopeningREAD MORE: First picture of man found dead in Glasgow flat as death treated as 'suspicious' "A few days ago I took my grandson over and I couldn't believe it was padlocked shut, with a sign saying it was for safety reasons.
"I think it's to do with the soft tarmac because it might have been broken. I spoke to someone else and they said it had been locked for a few weeks. "It is really terrible because the school holidays are coming up and it is used by a lot of people locally. There aren't a lot of green spaces in the area.Thornwood Park has been the heartbeat of the community for years, playing host to a variety of events.The concerned Granny said: "It's going to impact families a lot because the next park is all the way up Crow Road."It is just a great community place.
