Owner of The Skillet, Luke Tracey, has spoken out after his business was targeted overnight, being one of many break-ins in the area as police launch an investigation.

A west end restaurant owner has spoken out following an overnight break-in at his Partick restaurant and bar. He recalls being woken by a call from police, as officers launch an investigation following a multitude of robberies in the area.

"They broke in just before 2 o'clock in the morning. When I arrived I could see the front door had been smashed in so there was damage to that and to the bar. They had stolen the cash register, iPads, including my personal iPad and some stock.READ MORE: Horrifying moment 10-year-old boy is mauled by out-of-control dog as he plays outside his home

Thankfully, Luke is local to the west end area and was able to get to the restaurant within ten minutes. Miraculously, they were up and running the following morning - as staff pulled together to clear up the damage caused. "I was determined to not let them win on both counts of stealing everything and then effecting trade. We had birthday parties booked in for the following day, that's not the kind of thing I wanted to cancel so there was a lot of effort put in for us to open and run as normal."

The incidents occurred between August 24 and September 13 at premises on Byres Road, Great Western Road, Dumbarton Road, Gibson Street, Hyndland Road and Hyndland Street.
