The iconic crocodile who appeared alongside Paul Hogan in the 1986 blockbuster Crocodile Dundee has died at “over 90 years old”, the reptile’s caretakers have revealed.
An iconic star of the 1986 blockbuster Crocodile Dundee has been remembered for his “fiery temper” and “resilience” following his death at age 90.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Burt, the iconic Saltwater crocodile and star of the Australian classic Crocodile Dundee,” they wrote to their Facebook page.“Burt passed away peacefully over the weekend, estimated to be over 90 years old, marking the end of an incredible era.”
The Crocosaurus Cove also revealed Burt’s inspiring origin story, including how the croc was captured in the early 1980s before his big screen debut alongside Hogan.
