Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu claims the co-pilot accused of the attack had been radicalised.

“We started to feel the plane decreasing very, very sharply with very big acceleration with very sharp angle. It didn’t feel like a normal air pocket,” Polo told Sunrise, revealing confusion.

“After a couple of seconds, we start to hear shouting from the first couple of rows from the business class. There’s a lot of blood and there’s a stabbing. ” Israeli envoy to the UAE Yossi Shelley said it was too early to draw conclusions and no motive had yet been determined, but Netanyahu has already claimed the offending pilot was radically indoctrinated.

Netanyahu identified him as a citizen of Oman and said investigators are now looking into the offending pilot’s background. Omani authorities have not commented.

“We know that he underwent Islamist radical indoctrination. That appears to be something we are gathering from his personal information,” Netanyahu said in an interview with Fox News. Adam Polo told Sunrise about how he tried to stay calm as a FlyDubai plane plummeted after the pilot was stabbed. Trump said that if the link is substantiated, the US will retaliate against Iran: “Oh they’ll be hit, very hard, don’t worry.

” The UAE has started investigations to establish the circumstances and motives and determine “whether the incident was linked to any terrorist activity or purpose, or involved prior planning or direction,” the state news agency said. A regional official briefed on the investigation said the suspect was under arrest and had been handed over to the UAE.

“All possible scenarios, from terrorism to mental disorders, are being looked into. Nothing is ruled out for now,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity because due to not being authorised to discuss an ongoing probe.and the plane started to plummet, he managed to unlock the cockpit door, allowing passengers to subdue the attacker, and a reserve crew onboard proceeded to land the plane at Tabuk airport in Saudi Arabia.

“You just hug them, tell them that it’s just a malfunction in the airplane and they’re fixing it. Some of the fellow passengers are helping them.

“You’re with your Mummy and Daddy and hugging you and everything will be just okay, we are together. “You try to keep your intonation calm and your face looking calm and try not to be panicked. Although in the inside, you’re terrified.

” When asked by Nat Barr if he thought he was going to die during the incident, Polo said he had “very dark thoughts” going through his mind and despite not being very religious, found himself leaning into his spirituality and hoped things would turn out OK. The pilot is recovering well, the Indian embassy in the UAE said on X. “The brave son of India, Captain Smit has done wonders, and a great service to humanity,” India’s ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal said after meeting the hero captain and his family in hospital.

“I don’t know if you believe in karma or not, but these guys, all of them, deserve the best,” he said. Yaniv Hayun, one of those men, described running to the cockpit as the plane nosedived.

“We pulled the assailant out, I pulled him out. After I pulled him out we took control of the plane, I pulled up the yoke , I straightened the plane out a bit,” he said, talking to reporters upon his return to Israel on Wednesday.

The incident has heightened security fears in Israel weeks before the country votes in the first election since the Hamas-led attacks of October 7, 2023, with Israel’s security figuring prominently in political campaigns.
