Republican Pat Nolin is running for one of Alaska’s seats in the U.S. Senate, currently held by Lisa Murkowski.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Republican Pat Nolin is running for U.S. Senate, representing Alaska. This seat is currently held by Lisa Murkowski.

He said he is running because the incumbent in the position has a history of siding with the administration of President Joe Biden. “I wish that was a good thing. Some people say ‘Well, she’s reaching across the aisle,’ but when the ideas are good and coherent, that would be a great thing, but you’re hard-pressed to find maybe two or three things that the Biden administration did that was really good for the United States and Alaska.

Nolin hopes to get the economy going and improve national and state security. “We have unbelievable reserves up there in Prudhoe Bay, especially natural gas. That’s the cleanest fossil fuel there is, and we can still work on green energy, but in the meantime, we’ve got to keep our fossil fuel going to curb this inflation.”

According to Nolin, his time working as a heavy equipment mechanic has taught him lessons also relevant to the political sphere. “You gather all the facts that you can. You lay them out. You’ve got to be honest with the facts. The facts will point to truth. Truth will point to facts. Truth will point to the solution, but you cannot lie to yourself or others and come out with a proper solution.”Copyright 2022 KTVF. All rights reserved.
