‘Pathetic’: Chris Kenny blasts Labor’s ‘absolute failure’ to protect Australian border
Sky News host Chris Kenny has blasted Labor’s “absolute failure” of Operation Sovereign Borders and Australia’s border protection regime.
On Friday, about 40 men were discovered near the small Indigenous community of Beagle Bay before being flown to offshore detention for processing. “It is time for Labor to stop pretending this is a Coalition problem, stop trying to score political points against the Coalition and stop defending its own weakness,” Mr Kenny said.
“What it needs to defend is our borders. It needs to show strength, here, restore the aerial and maritime surveillance that it has cut since coming to office and make sure boats don’t get through. “If this gets worse, there will be a disastrous humanitarian cost, a worrisome security cost of course and as always a substantial financial cost.”
