Former royal aide Paul Burrell opened up about the harsh reality of his prostate cancer treatment on Monday's Lorraine, as he invited viewers along to his first meeting with his cancer consultant.
Paul invited Lorraine viewers along to his first meeting with his cancer consultant this week, and although the camera crew wasn’t allowed inside the consultation room, Paul explained exactly what had gone on once back outside the hospital.He added: ‘I get so emotional because of the hormone therapy, which she said will continue after the operation. So, I’m going to be in a mess for a very long time. But you have to trade off certain things.
Giving the daytime presenter an update, he said: ‘I’m tired, I’m on hormone therapy, it’s robbing me of my testosterone so my beard isn’t growing as it should, I’m tired, and I’m getting hot flushes. ‘In the summer I had to go for a medical for a TV programme I was doing and their duty of care was to go for a full medical.Struggling to hold it together, Paul, whose children live in America, added: ‘I was wrapping Christmas presents, wondering, “Will I be here next Christmas?”
