22/01/2020In a bold prediction for the year, One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson says she believes "there could be a leadership challenge by the end of the year" against Prime Minister Scott Morrison. Ms Hanson said the Australian people "are not happy" with the prime minister at the moment, and if "[Scott] Morrison doesn't pick up his support" which she claims he has lost since the last election, he could face a leadership spill.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has faced increased scrutiny over the last month for his handling of the ongoing bushfire crisis, especially from climate activists who believe there needs to be greater action on climate change. The intense criticism was mirrored in the latest Newspoll which saw Mr Morrison's approval ratings drop significantly, and as a result left Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese as the preferred prime minister according to the poll.
