The Benfica star joined the champions late on deadline day but is raring to go for Champions League nights.
It comes after the highly-rated Benfica man sealed a loan deal on deadline day with the Scottish champions, with the Hoops holding an option to buy on the 21-year-old attacking midfielder. Celtic will be hoping Bernardo works out as well as their latest recruit from the Portuguese giants did, with winger Jota leaving for £25million this summer. But Bernardo, who became Rodgers third signing in a week and ninth across the window, revealed he's watched Celtic for a long time.
The Portugal Under-21 cap will get to experience glamour European nights under the lights with the Champions League draw bringing big hitters Atletico Madrid, Feyenoord and Lazio to Glasgow. He revealed Rodgers had one simple question for him, if he was ready for the big responsibility of playing for Celtic.
He told Celtic TV: “I’m very excited to be here. It’s a great club and I’m ready to be on the pitch and to help the team. I always grew up with Celtic in the big competitions in the Champions League and most of the time as champions here in Scotland. "I have always seen Celtic as a big and a great club. The Champions League is a great competition and I’m ready for it. Our ambition is to be champions and perform very well in the group stage of the Champions League and go as far as we can.
"The manager explained to me a little bit about Celtic and he asked me if I’m ready to be part of the team. It was really nice and I’m ready."
