A pedestrian died Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle before dawn in Anchorage’s Mountain View neighborhood, police said
.The adult pedestrian had been seriously injured by a vehicle, and police said at 12:35 p.m. that the person died.
Police did not answer questions or provide additional details about the circumstances of the collision.This is the 13th pedestrian to die after being struck by a vehicle this year, making 2021 the deadliest year in the last decade for pedestrians. Two bicyclists also died this year after being struck by vehicles, a police spokeswoman confirmed.
