Alarming video has emerged showing some of the terrifying near-missed among the 173 incidents in which pedestrians and vehicles have come close to being wiped out by South Australian trains or trams. In one video, a young child is seen stumbling alone out on to the tracks at a crossing at Gawler before turning back just seconds before a train approaches and stops.
Pedestrians captured on camera in terrifying near-misses with SA trains and trams. The hair-raising video from the train’s dashcam will be part of a new state government campaign highlighting the reckless behaviour of people near rail networks. In another incident, a man is seen jumping over an activated pedestrian gate at Broadmeadows just centimetres away from a train charging past.
