This looks so magical and colourful
A Leeds couple have transformed their garden into a magical fairy garden in a bid to raise money for charityMay Proctor and her husband Rod, who are both in their 70s, have become well known in Garforth for attracting hundreds of people to their home every Christmas; they transform their garden into a magical candy land every year with over 2,000 lights.
Instead the couple, who have five children, 24 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, have been busy preparing their Fairy Lane garden attraction. It features hundreds of flowers, plants, garden accessories, a fairy 'café', dolls houses, fairy huts, a"fairy department store", all made by themselves. As the display doesn't have lights, it is more affordable.
"We have a made large magic fairy tree, loads of fairy houses, large fairy gates, plus lots more. I make all the toadstool houses myself and my grandson has his full-sized Hobbit house in the garden too that they can see. We’re doing all this for donations." She added:"'I think people really appreciate the fact we've made everything ourselves. Hundreds of neighbours have come to see the house because it looks so bright and cheerful. Everyone's reaction has made it all worth it."
Fairy Lane will be open from 12pm this Saturday for two weeks. Donations will be taken to view the attraction which will help to support Garforth and District Lions Club - who empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace. The entranceway to May and Rod's garden
