People aren’t loving this painting It has to be said that Kate Middleton is an incredibly photogenic woman – but this artist impression is… well, interesting. The Princess of Wales was recently unveiled as the cover star of Tatler magazine’s July issue. Instead of the classic glossy photo you might expect of a front cover, the magazine went for a painting of the royal. But royal enthusiasts are not at all pleased with the final product, created by British-Zambian artist Hannah Uzor.
’ Another, @Fibutton, said: ‘This is dreadful – somehow, I’m not sure the artist is a fan of the Princess – it looks like a bad GCSE project!’. User Sheila Williams was more measured, saying: ‘Sorry Tatler, it’s a no from me. As much as I admire the time and effort expended, the dress, the background, it’s not Kate’s face.’ Meanwhile, Twitter user Ciara wrote: ‘Sorry but this looks like a painting you might find in a charity shop that someone’s Aunt did in an art class.
