Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has missed the last two games but is expected to return in a few days
Pep Guardiola is expected back in the UK on Wednesday to boost Manchester City preparations for their weekend game with West Ham United.
The Blues boss missed the Premier League wins over Sheffield United and Fulham after undergoing surgery on a back problem in August. Juanma Lillo stepped up from assistant coach to lead the team for those games, although there was regular contact with the manager - including on matchdays with staff and players - while he was recuperating in Barcelona.
Guardiola has recovered sufficiently to be expected back on Wednesday when the players will start coming back together following their efforts on international duty. City head to east London on Saturday aiming to continue their 100 per cent record in the early stages of the Premier League. How much of his normal role Guardiola is able to play remains to be seen given his recent surgery, but the City boss is set to return well in time to be able to be in the dugout for West Ham - even if he is not able to be as active there. The Catalan will continue to be assisted by Lillo and the rest of his backroom staff.
