'He needs more rhythm & time, but already he had 45 minutes which is good for him. 'He made just four, five training sessions; he needs weeks.' Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola thinks it'll be a few weeks before Erling Haaland finds his best form.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will need time to fire on all cylinders, despite scoring on his debut, Pep Guardiola insists.
Guardiola praised the 22-year-old's poacher's instinct but said the Norway international would need time and careful conditioning after recent "niggles" to get into top shape for life in the Premier League. "The first minutes, he needs more rhythm and time, but already he had 45 minutes which is good for him.
Jack Grealish set up Haaland's close-range finish with neat footwork and delivery from the left flank and though the £100million player was used sparingly at times in his first City season, Guardiola likes what he has seen from the England international in the build-up to the 2022-23 campaign.
