Our region is blessed with many great pubs and bars

Easter doesn't have to be all about chocolate and with no work to worry about on Monday, you're primed to head out for a few pints after a Sunday roast. Whether you are venturing into town or staying local, there are plenty of spots in our region with plenty of great boozers.

If the long-standing pubs aren't quite enough for you, the new additions of The Queen of Hope Street, The White Hart and The Engineer have added even more depth to the city's best area for a pub crawl. The Green Man, The Albert and The Lodge are the lane's offering of traditional pubs. Its many bars include Love & Rockets, The Bookbinder, The Old School House and the legendary Keith's Wine Bar, which has attracted a range of characters for almost 50 years and inspired the lane's journey into the bohemian enclave it is today.

Hoggins Irish Pub, The Queen's Picture House and Bunratty's Irish American Bar are also among your options. For something slightly different, micropub Trap & Hatch has become a popular venue for cask and craft ale. For me, as an Everton fan, it's hard to look beyond my favoured matchday venues - namely The Brick and The Royal Oak. However, the Black Horse and Bernie May's will be among the busiest on the busy Walton road.

Additionally, you won't find many better Irish bars than Kelly's Dispensary, where the Guinness is top tier. But if you're after something a little bit more traditional, however, The Willow Bank and the Brookhouse have you covered. The White Lion Inn, which dates back to the 1800s, is a fine traditional pub. The sandstone pub is very cosy inside and also has a fantastic beer garden, making it an ideal choice for all weather.
