A darling on Kickstarter, the Nanofoamer is now a real product. It looks like a very tiny immersion blender, which is more or less what it is. It has two distinct screens that fit over the blade: one for fine-textured milk and another for ultrafine-textured milk. The difference is subtle, but the fine filter creates milk that's abubblier than the ultrafine filter.
That's why latte art is mostly brown with little dashes of white . Using a spoon to hold back the foam until the end is a great way to make sure you don't over-foam your latte, though sometimes I just spoon the foam on afterward because foam is delicious.
