The long-awaited independent review into the NSW government’s controversial New York trade role revealed exactly what was expected: a flawed process that was broken from the beginning.
Perrottet tasked former public service commissioner Graeme Head with investigating the recruitment process that saw the former deputy premier land the plum $500,000-a-year job . Perrottet said there was nothing in the report that suggested Barilaro had done anything wrong and he also “acknowledged the distress that it’s caused many people who are either currently in these roles or who have applied for these roles”.
