All lines are currently closed between Aberdeen and Dundee following the early-morning tragedy
A person has died after being hit by a train on a busy railway line this morning. All lines are currently closed between Aberdeen and Dundee until around 9am after the incident happened near Montrose.
Ambulance crews attended but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. British Transport Police are not treating the deat as suspicious and confirmed a report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to the line in Aberdeen at 5.31am on June 19 following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Procurator Fiscal.”
