A year after a 4-year-old vanishes, a community asks: Where is Codi?

The chain-link fence covered with stuffed animals, posters and photos on the side of a road in Hampton, Va., resembles a makeshift memorial, but it is more than that. It is a meeting place. It’s where people go to leave gifts for Codi Bigsby, to call for justice for Codi Bigsby and to make sure that name — Codi Bigsby — and the boy it belongs to is not forgotten.“It’s where we go to honor him and keep his light shining,” said Bianca Wilson on Tuesday.

Wilson never met Codi before he was reported missing at the age of 4, but that didn’t matter. Many of the people who have spent the past year searching for him and for answers about his disappearance didn’t know him. They also didn’t know one another. They were strangers until he went missing. But now, they are united by the same pressing question: Where is Codi?“There is something about this little boy that was able to bring so many people together,” said Wilson, who founded.

If you live in the Hampton area, you probably know about Codi. But if you live outside of the region, you might not have heard of the boy who disappeared in the winter last seen wearing Spider-Man flip-flops. Community members who have been searching for him want to change that. They want people in other states to look at his picture, study his features and consider whether they might know anything about his disappearance.
